What is The Kind Gardeners Collective?
A group of qualified patients, who collectively cooperate and contribute to the benefit of (other members of) the Collective.It is operated as a not-for-profit organization, with excess revenue and medicine donated to charities and/or provided to members.
Do you offer your services to the general public (non-members)?
Only active members of The Kind Gardeners Collective may receive services or distribution of medicine (Cannabis) from the Collective.Does the Collective sell cuttings or rooted clones?
No.The Collective does not sell cuttings or clones. Fortunately, sources of cuttings/clones exist for Collective members, for a variety of Cannabis strains appropriate for different medical conditions.
Does the Collective sell medicine?
No. The Collective does not sell medicine. However, members mayreceive an appropriate quantity of medicine every month, as part of their membership.
What does it cost to become a member of the Collective?
There is an initial consultation, which will cost you between $70-$125(depending on meeting location), and usually takes up to an hour or two. Once approved for membership, there is a $25 annual membership fee to belong to the Collective. A member may cancel their membership at any time.
What are the monthly fees to belong to the Collective?
There are different aspects of membership. Members usually host a garden, and may help with gardening chores. If not, members also may contribute money to help cover the operations of the Collective, or not. So, it all depends on what hat you choose to wear: how and what you contribute.
How do I start?
Call us, and we’ll schedule an “Initial consultation” meeting.
Do I need an “initial consultation”?
Yes, it’s part of the process of membership. The purpose of the initial consultation is to make sure that your membership in the Collective is right for you, right for the Collective, and that you understand what the costs might be, and what responsibilities of membership mean.
How do I become a member of The Kind Gardeners Collective?
State law requires that you have a valid “MMJ recommendation” from a physician, and only San Diego County residents are eligible. Complete the application form, agreeing to the Collective terms and rules. Upon approval, you become a member, there is an annual $25 membership fee. There is no contract, so your membership may be cancelled at any time, by you, or by the Collective, without cause or notice.
What are the work requirements or contributions required of members?
As a member of The Kind Gardeners Collective, you may share in the Collective’s work and/or costs in several ways (though not necessarily all):
*By maintaining your own garden (as best you can),
*By making a small monthly payment, to cover the time and attention your garden receives,
*By donating a small portion of your harvest to the collective (for distribution within the collective).
*If you are too sick ou unable to do the actual “work”, we'll figure out how you can contribute.
What benefits do members of the collective enjoy?
Medicine: After being a member for three months, you will have a continuous, adequate supply of medicine (from your, and other members’ gardens).
Gardening: You can become proficient as a gardener, and/or assist other members with their gardens.
It varies among different members, but may include valuable consulting and hands-on training to help you successfully grow your own medicine (such as):
*What care is necessary to maximize plant health (watering, feeding, lighting, disease & pest control);
*What type of environment is necessary (temperature, humidity, air motion, lighting);
*What equipment and tools are required (lights, growing mediums, odor control, security);
*How to harvest, dry and store your medicine.
