How it works:

Initial consultation
We meet with you, the patient, at your home or a local coffee shop, to evaluate your individual needs and resources (monthly medicine requirements, growing location/size, time, budget). Fees range from $50-100 for this initial meeting (depending on location within San Diego County), which usually takes an hour or two. An application for TKGC membership is provided at this time.

Membership
Membership is not for everyone. Members are caring individuals, “givers” not “takers”, who wish to associate with like-minded folks around the project of maintaining a network of collective gardens. Under State Law, members of a “collective” are allowed to contribute their time, talent and/or treasure towards a not-for-profit enterprise, which helps provide those members with a constant, reliable, adequate supply of high-quality medical cannabis.

“Brown thumb”, or too sick to garden?
Not a problem. By combining the resources and talents of TKGC members, you may still be able to “host” your own garden, with the maintenance and care being provided by other TKGC members.

Greenhouse Installation
We usually refer to any indoor growing space as a “greenhouse”, regardless of construction methods. Installation involves creating a small customized indoor growing area, typically a closet, cabinet, spare bedroom, or other enclosed space. Creating a safe, discreet, controlled environment for the plants is key to successful gardening. If you wish to have us install your greenhouse, we can provide a quote for installation including materials and labor. Materials for the initial installation of a typical greenhouse costs range from $1000-$3000. This may include: purchase & setup of appropriately-sized, proven growing equipment such as lights, fans, timers, nutrients, etc.
We do not currently support outdoor growing, unless it is done in a secure, locked “structure”.

Ongoing gardening assistance
Following the installation of your greenhouse, The Kind Gardeners Collective may also provide help with planting and garden management, and ongoing weekly gardening training and assistance to make sure your garden is successful and abundant.

Harvest and sharing
Other members may donate the starter plants or cuttings.  Following harvests, typically every three months, members donate a portion of their crop to the collective to provide medicine to other TKGC members.  Because our gardening methods are successful, adequate quantities of medicine are produced.  Imagine always having “enough” medicine… that reality is here.

Safety and Confidentiality
All work is performed by senior members of The Kind Gardeners Collective. Installation is usually completed by a licensed contractor member. Ongoing garden assistance is provided by a member with experience growing medical cannabis indoors.
